This Privacy Policy explains how AI Tales ("Service") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information. The Service is operated by Dmytro Ishchenko ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our").

By downloading, accessing, or using AI Tales on iOS or Android, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

• Account Information: Email address, display name, authentication provider ID.
• Device & Technical Information: Device type, operating system, app version, language, timezone, IP address, and diagnostic data.
• Identifiers: Firebase Installation ID, IDFV (iOS), and advertising identifiers where permitted by your device settings.
• Usage Data: Gameplay progress, interactions, feature usage, session duration, and crash reports.
• User Content: Story prompts, AI-generated stories, chat content, saved tales, and feedback submitted within the app.
• Transaction Information: Subscription status, product identifiers, and transaction confirmations provided by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store full payment card details.
• Support Communications: Information you provide when contacting us via email or support forms.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
• Generate AI-powered interactive stories;
• Authenticate users and manage accounts;
• Process purchases and verify subscriptions;
• Improve performance, features, and stability;
• Analyze usage trends and prevent fraud or abuse;
• Provide customer support;
• Comply with legal obligations.

Legal Basis (EEA/UK Users):

• Performance of a contract (providing the Service);
• Legitimate interests (security, analytics, improvements);

• Your consent where required (e.g., certain analytics or advertising identifiers).

3. Artificial Intelligence Processing

AI Tales uses large language models (LLMs) to generate interactive story content in real time. When you enter prompts or interact with the story, your content is processed automatically to generate responses.

• AI processing may occur on secure infrastructure operated by us or trusted third-party providers.
• Data is processed solely for the purpose of generating responses and operating the Service.
• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not use your personal data to train external AI models for unrelated purposes.
• Where technically feasible, data is pseudonymized before processing.

AI-generated content is automated. Human review may occur only when necessary for security, abuse prevention, technical debugging, or customer support.

4. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers, which may process data under their own privacy policies:

• Google Play Services
• Apple
• Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Authentication)

We share only the information necessary for them to provide their services. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy:

• Account data — while your account remains active;
• User content — until deleted by you or upon account deletion;
• Analytics data — may be retained in aggregated or anonymized form;

AI Tales is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date. Material changes may be communicated within the app. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
